Christmas and Oxford

I use to write masses of poetry not so much these days as life takes over and the creative energy is taken over with running families successfully.  When I lived in London it was a lovely place to be at Christmas time.  Nice and cold.  Here are a couple of poems I wrote around this time.

Christmas and Oxford

Bonny old London

with its grey pastures

and narrow streets

and jewels in every crowd

stunning Christmas lights

down Oxford Street

as a taste of the continent

melts in your mouth

found in the quieter streets

of Kensington

and Holland Park

the park of opera and opulent dreams.
